Comparison
Clay vs AI GTM Brain
Clay is a data and workflow platform: you build tables that pull from 150+ data providers, run waterfalls and AI research, and send the results to your CRM or a sequencer. AI GTM Brain is a team of seven AI agents that does the research and outreach for you every weekday, starting from your website. Clay gives you more control and more data; AI GTM Brain asks you to build nothing.

How each one finds leads
In Clay, you design the search. You pull companies and people from 150+ data providers, chain them in waterfalls so a second provider fills what the first missed, and use Claygent, Clay's AI web research agent, to generate custom data points. Paid plans add signals such as job changes, promotions, new hires, company news and social listening, with web intent signals on Growth. It is very flexible, and it rewards someone who enjoys building.
AI GTM Brain makes those choices for you. It reads your website, pricing and competitors, writes a one-page brief (who buys, what to say, what never to say) that you can edit, and its research agent brings daily leads with a reason to talk now: funding rounds, open roles, tech stacks or engagement with competitors' posts. Each lead is qualified with evidence and a source from 30+ data sources, including work email finding and verification.
How outreach goes out
Clay can launch email campaigns through its own sequencer or a sequencing integration, and on Growth it can push audiences to LinkedIn and Meta ads and sync with your CRM. What gets sent, and when, is a workflow you set up.
AI GTM Brain sends for you, from your own accounts. The LinkedIn agent sends connection invites with a short note and messages after someone accepts, inside daily caps. The email agent runs short sequences from your inboxes and triages replies; a reply, bounce or unsubscribe stops the sequence. Each message opens with the person's own signal, in your voice.
How much runs on its own
Clay can schedule recurring enrichment runs and trigger work from signals and webhooks, but someone on your team builds and maintains those workflows. Its pricing page features teams such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Intercom and Rippling that run their GTM data this way.
AI GTM Brain runs every weekday with nobody pressing a button. Seven agents each have a schedule and a budget per run and per week they never go past, and every paid call is priced before it runs. The trade-off is control: you edit the brief, targets and caps, not each step of a workflow.
Channels covered
Clay is strongest at data: enrichment, signals, and getting records into your CRM, warehouse, ad audiences or sequencer. AI GTM Brain is built around GTM channels rather than data, with one agent per channel:
- Research and qualified leads every weekday.
- LinkedIn invites and messages, and email sequences, from your own accounts.
- Weekly posts and comments for LinkedIn and X, published by a person.
- Useful Reddit answers with no pitch, posted by a person.
- Partners that already reach your buyers, with a first note.
- A weekly review that tunes the brief, targets and caps.
Clay pricing, explained
Clay bills two things. Actions measure the platform work (running a table, calling a model, sending data out) and start under a cent each. Data credits buy data and AI from providers in Clay's marketplace and start at $0.05. If an enrichment finds nothing, you are not charged, and if you bring your own API keys you skip data credits and pay only actions.
The Free plan includes 500 actions and 100 data credits a month, with up to 200 rows per table. Launch starts at $185 a month with 15,000 actions and 2,500 data credits; Growth starts at $495 a month with 40,000 actions and 6,000 data credits, and adds CRM sync, HTTP API, webhooks and web intent. Enterprise is custom with an annual commitment. Paying annually saves about 10%, and there is a 14-day trial.
AI GTM Brain is in early access, opened to a few teams at a time, with no public price yet.
Questions

What are Clay actions and data credits?
Actions measure the work Clay does for you, such as running a table or calling a model, and cost under a cent each. Data credits pay for data from Clay's 150+ providers and start at $0.05. Unused data credits roll over within limits; actions reset each cycle.
Is Clay good for AI lead generation?
Yes, if you want to build it. Clay combines many data providers, signals and an AI research agent, so you can design very specific lead lists. You still decide what to search, how to score and where to send the results.
What is the best Clay alternative?
If you like Clay's data but not the time spent building, AI GTM Brain finds and qualifies leads from 30+ data sources and runs LinkedIn and email outreach for you every weekday. If you need custom workflows or CRM and warehouse sync, Clay remains the better tool.
Does AI GTM Brain sync with my CRM?
Not today. AI GTM Brain works in its own workspace, with one channel per agent and one thread per job. If CRM sync is a requirement, Clay offers it on Growth.
